Wamusyi Diaspora Organization,also known as Wamusyi In Diaspora is a thriving welfare organization established in 2019 by a group of close friends who recognized the importance of fostering a strong sense of community among East African /Kenya immigrants from the Kamba ethnic group, residing in Washington state and wider USA. This organization was born out of a shared desire to provide support, unity, and a platform for cultural preservation and growth among its members.

Bereavement Chapter
This Chapter extends support and assistance to families facing the loss of a loved one. The chapter’s mission is to alleviate the burden of bereavement by providing emotional support, financial aid, and logistical assistance during these challenging times. The organization has successfully assisted very many families since inception,, helping them navigate the difficulties associated with mourning.
Development Chapter
This chapter concentrates on fostering personal and professional growth within the community. This involves organizing workshops, seminars, and skill- building events that empower members to excel in their careers and personal endeavors. By offering a platform for networking and knowledge exchange, the organization helps individuals realize their full potential and contribute positively to society.
Philanthropy Chapter
This chapter embodies the organization’s commitment to giving back. Through various charitable initiatives and community projects, Wamusyi In Diaspora members work together to make a positive impact both locally and in Kenya. This chapter aims to address social issues and uplift disadvantaged individuals through collective efforts, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion.

We strive to raise a generation of Wamusyi youth who are confident, grounded, and equipped to lead—youth who honor their heritage while contributing meaningfully to the society they live in.

We aim to have a Youth Leadership Council to allow young people to have a voice in community matters.
Pair young members with mentors in business, technology, health care, and other professions.
Conduct leadership retreats and seminars focusing on public speaking, goal setting, and civic engagement.
Reinforce moral and spiritual growth through faith-based activities, youth fellowship, and mentorship by community leaders.
Encourage acts of kindness, integrity, and respect within families and the broader community.
Bereavement offers emotional, moral, and financial support to members who lose an immediate family member, in accordance with the welfare policy.

Looking ahead, Wamusyi In Diaspora is gearing up for its interactive Annual Cultural Event every year during Summer.. This event aims to showcase the rich heritage of the Kamba community through cultural artifacts, traditional performances, and displays of beauty. This celebration not only strengthens cultural bonds but also promotes understanding and appreciation of the Kamba culture among the wider community.
